TVS Motor Company has launched its flagship e-scooter in the market. Now it is called the X, priced at Rs 2.5 lakh. It comes in a single variant with a 4.44kWh battery and gets single-channel ABS, a 10.2-inch HD display and an LED headlight including DRLs. This maxi-scooter-styled offering is a performance-oriented premium scooter that has been developed from the ground up and will cater to the enthusiast.

TVS X design

The design hasn’t changed much from what we saw in the concept variant. It gets the same bold look albeit with slight changes. TVS claims that the scooter has a class-leading low aerodynamic coefficient. The front gets an LED headlight including daytime running lights and sequential side indicators. The scooter also gets lever guards adding to the sporty appeal. At the rear, it also gets a single-side rear swingarm.

You can also personalise your homepage by choosing widgets, wallpapers and special audio and video when you turn on the scooter.

In terms of safety features, when you are on the move you get speed limit alerts, overspeeding alerts, DND, crash and fall alerts, etc. When the vehicle is stopped, you get features like Geo-fencing, tow and theft alerts and location sharing as well. In addition to this, it also gets features like single-channel ABS, hill-hold feature and cruise control.

There are four ways with which you can unlock your scooter and you also have the option of sharing the digital key with your friends and family.

TVS X chassis

The X is built on the new Xleton platform and the frame is made out of high-strength aluminium alloy. TVS says they have worked extensively on the chassis, claiming that the frame is 2.5 times as stiff as typical two-wheelers, giving it a very high stiffness-to-weight ratio. It also has a low centre of gravity making the scooter easier to manoeuvre. The suspension includes telescopic forks at the front and an offset monoshock at the rear. TVS also showcased the new tyre compound that was made specifically for the X fitted on the 12-inch wheels.
