Tata Motors has introduced two new variants in their Altroz lineup - Altroz XM and Altroz XM(S). These variants come with new features and are priced at Rs 6.90 lakhs and Rs 7.35 lakhs, respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both variants are powered by a 1.2 L Revotron petrol engine with a manual transmission.

The Altroz XM boasts features like steering-mounted controls, a driver seat height adjuster, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, 16-inch wheels with wheel covers, and a premium-looking dashboard. On the other hand, the Altroz XM(S) comes with the additional feature of an electric sunroof, making it the most affordable premium hatchback with this feature.

These new variants fill the gap between the Altroz XE and XM+, expanding the appeal of the popular premium hatchback. Tata Motors has also made four power windows and remote keyless entry standard across all manual petrol variants of the Altroz.

Existing Altroz variants have received enhancements too. The XE variant now includes rear power windows and remote keyless entry with follow me home lamps. The XM+ and XM+S variants come with a reverse camera, driver seat height adjuster, cruise control, and a top-end dashboard look. The XT variant boasts a driver seat height adjuster, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a rear defogger.

The Tata Altroz comes with a 1.2-litre petrol, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol, 1.2-litre CNG, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The naturally-aspirated petrol mill churns out 86bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. While running on CNG, the Altroz produces 72bhp of power and 103Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine manages to produce 108bhp of power and 140Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine manages to produce 88bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. There is a choice between a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed DCA transmission in the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, while the other engines are mated with just the manual transmission.
