Suzuki India has launched a refreshed version of its top-selling scooter, the Access 125. The Access 125 SE (Special Edition) only gets a disc brake option and is available at Rs 61,788 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Access 125 SE competes with the likes of the Honda Activa (Rs. 65,012), Hero Maestro (Rs 60,500) and the TVS Ntorq (Rs 59,995, all ex-showroom, Delhi)
The special edition scooter gets a brand new metallic matte Bordeaux shade. Suzuki has also equipped the Access 125 SE with black alloy wheels, beige-coloured leatherette seat a la Jupiter Classis and chrome mirrors, distinguishing from the standard Access. Suzuki is also offering the DC charging socket as standard with the Access 125 SE.
Mechanically, the scooter remains the same and uses a 124cc, single-cylinder engine generating 8.5bhp at 7000rpm and 10.2Nm at 5000rpm.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Devashish Handa, vice president, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Access 125 continues to enjoy the title of the bestselling scooter in its segment in the country, and now we are glad to bring a renewed Special Edition to celebrate the spirit of our riders. The much loved family scooter offers better mileage without compromising on power, performance and style. Access 125 is a major contributor in Suzuki’s India growth story and we are committed to make it even better to resonate the love received from the customer.”
The Access has been Suzuki’s bread winner in the country for a while now and has been consistently outselling its competitors from established makers. The mild update is surely expected to appeal to buyers who are looking for a practical 125cc scooter that also offers premium features.
