Suzuki Motorcycle has launched the Burgman Street at Rs 68,000, ex-showroom, India. First displayed at the 2018 Auto Expo, the scooter, styled along the lines of its bigger sibling, the Burgman650 is positioned as a premium scooter offering in the crowded, lucrative and fiercely competitive scooter market in India.

As aforementioned, it takes inspiration from the popular 650cc Burgman sold abroad, However, the Burgman Street 125 is based on the Access. The Burgman also gets a small windscreen and foot pads mounted on the apron thereby allowing the rider to choose between placing his/her feet on the floorboard or alternatively on the foot pads on the apron.

Powering the Burgman Street is the familiar 124cc mill that makes 8.6bhp at 5000rpm and 10.2Nm at 7000rpm, mated to a CVT. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The Burgman is offered with 12-inch alloy wheels at the front and 10inch alloy wheels at the rear. The front wheel is equipped with a disc brake while the rear makes do with a drum brake setup exactly as on the Access. The Burgman also gets a multi-function digital information console.

With the Burgman Street, Suzuki seeks to expand its presence in the premium 125cc scooter segment and has the Honda Grazia, the Aprilia SR 125, the Vespa 125 and the TVS NTorq in its crosshairs.
