Skoda launches limited edition Rapid, the Rider

Skoda has launched the Skoda Rapid Rider, a limited edition car that is priced at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom India) and is the most affordable Skoda offering in India. The Rapid Rider will be available in two colour variants – Candy White and Carbon Steel.

Design

The Skoda Rapid Rider uses black design elements like the sided foils, B pillars, trunk lip garnish and the signature Skoda grille. The interiors comprise of a dual tone ebony-sand finish and the ivory slate upholstery which is found on the base model Rapid. The Rapid Rider also gets a scuff plate with the ‘Rapid’ inscription.

Under the Hood

The Rapid Rider uses the 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine. It is a four-cylinder, 1598cc engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission and puts down 103.5bhp at 5200-5250rpm and 153Nm of torque at 3750-3800rpm. Skoda claims that the engine can return a fuel efficiency of 15.41kmpl. Safety features on the car include dual-airbags, ABS, engine immobilizer and Parktronic rear parking sensors.
