Renault India launches the Captur with new variant and safety features

Renault India has given the Captur a handful of updates. The car now gets additional safety features and variants. The company has also ditched the mid-variants of the crossover and now is available in base and top-end variants. If that’s not all, Renault India has also slashed the price of the Captur. The prices for the Captur now start at Rs 9.49 lakh, which is Rs 50,000 cheaper than the launch price of the base model. The Renault Captur takes on the likes of Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta and Kia’s upcoming SP2i SUV.

Features in the new Renault Captur

In compliance with the safety regulations, Renault Captur now gets dual airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensor, driver & co-driver seat belt reminder, speed alert as standard for all the variants. Other features like height adjustable seat-belts, child seat anchor, rear defogger, rear wiper & washer, and speed sensing auto door lock are also offered as standard.

The car now also gets a 7-inch infotainment system offering better connectivity. The infotainment system finally is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. The features include voice recognition and parking camera assistance. It also features the new eco guide- a system to monitor the driving patterns and provide guidelines to improve the car’s efficiency.

The variants for the new Renault Captur

The crossover is now available in the base variants RXE offered with petrol and diesel engines. The company has ditched the mid level RXL and the RXT Dual tone variants. The top-of-the-line Platine dual tone variant gets a petrol engine as well.

The car packs the four cylinder 1.5 litre petrol engine churning 102bhp and 142Nm along with the 1.4 litre diesel engine producing 107bhp and 240Nm.
