MG Motor announces the launch date of the Hector

MG Hector, a brand new SUV from a brand new manufacturer, MG motor’s first ever product in India is all set to be launched, with the price announcement to take place on 27th June 2019, the official booking of which were started right after the promotion of the Hector. MG Motor started promoting their SUV on 4th June 2019 while the test drive of the SUV started lately.

Under the hood

The Hector is powered by three engines, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, a 48V mild-hybrid version of the 1.5-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 141bhp of maximum power and 250Nm of maximum torque while the mild-hybrid version of the same claims to add 12 per cent of fuel efficiency , along with adding 20Nm of torque. The petrol engine variants get a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as options, while the diesel engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox.

Connectivity and Safety

The SUV is loaded with features along with a lot of first-in-segment ones, like the 10.4 inch high-definition vertically oriented screen with a number of connectivity technologies and panoramic sunroof. When it comes to safety features, it has dual airbags as standard but the higher variants get as many as six airbags.

The MG Hector will go up against the Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV300 and even the Hyundai Creta once it is launched.
