Mahindra has revealed some key features of its flagship SUV, the Alturas G4, which will be launched on November 24. The company also says that the SUV will be priced upwards of Rs 30 lakh. The SUV will be equipped with features and tech including nine airbags, 360° surround view camera, dual zone automatic temperature control, ventilated seats, 8-way adjustable driver seat with memory function and roll over protection.
The SUV will be available through ‘separate high-end showroom within the existing Mahindra World of SUVs dealerships’ says the company. Relationship managers at the dealerships will cater to its customers, which is a segment first. Mahindra will also introduce a loyalty programme called ‘Purple Club+’, where customers can earn and redeem points by engaging with the brand, another first in the category.
On the Alturas G4 SUV, Veejay Ram Nakra, chief of sales and marketing, M&M Ltd. said, “The Alturas G4 is our most luxurious offering till date and will come with a host of technology & safety features, many of which are not available in vehicles in a similar price range. We have always been a pioneer when it comes to creating industry benchmarks and the Alturas G4 will be no different. We are certain that with the Alturas G4, we would redefine the high-end SUV segment.”
The SUV is based on the Ssangyong Rexton and will be built at the company’s facility in Chakan. The Mahindra Alturas G4 will compete with the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner, which start at Rs 26.32 lakh and Rs 27.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
