Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. today announced a program called “Own-Online” that allows customers to have a showroom like an experience at home. In this digital program, Mahindra allows its customers to explore within Mahindra's wide range of SUVs and personalize their car according to their needs. It also adds certain features like getting your car delivered at the doorstep or any preferred location, getting a quote for your old car from the nearest dealer in case of exchange and even finalizing the loan and insurance formalities.

The Own-Online platform from Mahindra is a one-stop-shop for customers to buy cars from Mahindra’s portfolio with convenience and transparency while being able to access the company's exhaustive personalization options for their new car.

Mahindra is not the first manufacturer to start such a venture and is the latest in a growing list of manufacturers. Companies like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Honda, Ford and Volkswagen have already announced digital buying platforms. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has necessitated the switch to digital buying platforms for customers and allows buyers to adhere strictly to social-distancing guidelines formulated to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

Speaking at the launch Veejay Nakra, CEO – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “Today we are delighted to launch ‘Own-Online’ platform, India’s most complete, end-to-end, online car ownership solution. Its easy & convenient 4-step journey allows the customer to own a Mahindra vehicle in less time than it takes to get a pizza delivered! He also said with our pre and post-purchase online solutions already in place, reimagining the car purchase experience was a logical next step for us and in the recent times, online has been a preferred purchase channel across categories and going forward, the online purchase of vehicles is set to gain more traction. We are ready to lead this change in automotive retail by providing many industry-first experiences to our customers.”

With Mahindra’s Own-Online platform the customer can be connected around 270+ dealerships and 900+ touch points in India and avail offers and discounts while having a better understanding of things like price breakdowns of their cars and associated taxes and insurance without stepping foot outside their homes. These online platforms make buying a car a hassle-free experience as all the modalities involved with buying a car are taken care of by the manufacturers and dealers themselves.
