Kia Motors held the framework installation ceremony of their all new and first Indian manufacturing facility in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The new plant is spread over a vast land of 536 acres and Kia targets to employ approximately 3,000 jobs and produce 3 lakh cars annually. Production will commence in 2019 and the first car will reach showrooms before Diwali 2019.

Kia is a South Korea based car manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, which is a minority owned by Hyundai with 33.88 percent stake value. The manufacturer will soon commence the recruitment of employees needed to operate the plant. Kia and local governance also plans to conduct training programs for locals for them to be employed in the new plant.
