Kia India has introduced two new Seltos variants: the GTX+ (S) for Rs 19.40 lakh and the X-Line (S) for Rs 19.60 lakh. These variants come equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and aim to address the extended waiting times experienced by potential buyers.
These additions, which sit between the HTX+ and GTX Plus/X-Line models, offer both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a Smartstream 1.5-litre Turbo-GDi unit that produces 158bhp and 253Nm of torque and is mated to a 7-speed DCT. Meanwhile, the diesel variant is powered by a Smartstream 1.5-litre CRDi VGT engine that produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Prices are the same for the variants of both diesel and turbo petrol engine options.
These new Kia Seltos models include ADAS Level 2 with 17 autonomous features, 18-inch crystal-cut glossy black alloy wheels, an electric parking brake with auto hold, and black roof lining. These variants, however, lack a Bose audio system and a surround-view monitor in favour of a 6-speaker audio system and a rear camera.
Kia India anticipates that the introduction of these variants will significantly reduce the waiting period for customers, from an average of 15-16 weeks to 7-9 weeks, ensuring timely deliveries before Diwali.
The Seltos offers Level 2 ADAS safety features, encompassing adaptive cruise control, blind spot collision warning, lane keep assist, front collision warning and avoidance assist, lane departure warning, lane follow assist, high-beam assist, safe exit warning, leading vehicle departure alert, and more. The pricing for the Seltos remains in the range of Rs 10.90 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Kia Seltos competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
