Jaguar Land Rover India has started offering advanced connectivity features in their flagship cars like the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and the Discovery. Under the company’s InControl Package, which takes care of inbuilt communication and connectivity related features, there will be three new additions- Protect, Remote Premium and Secure Tracker.

The Protect feature will allow drivers to ask for assistance in case of a vehicle break down. They would simply need to press the ‘Optimised Assistance’ button on the overhead console that will establish communication directly with the company’s helpline operators. They would then guide the service unit directly to the vehicle’s break down location. The same can be done through the InControl Remote Smartphone app. And in case of a serious accident, the SOS Emergency call instantly connects the user to the emergency response team.

On the other hand, the Remote Premium feature packs funky tricks. It would allow Land Rover’s smartphone app users to remotely set the cabin temperature to desired levels before even entering the car. There’s added safety as the users can receive alerts when the vehicle alarm is sounding, remotely beep and flash the car to help locate the car in crowded areas and remotely use the seat fold function.

That’s another safety feature called the Secure Tracker which notifies the users on the app in case of tampering with the car or theft attempts. The Secure Tracker can send a theft notification to the ‘Stolen Vehicle Tracking Centre’ from where the user of the vehicle can be informed and if requested by the local law enforcement agency, pinpoint the exact location of the vehicle for recovery.

On giving safety a priority, Mr Rohit Suri, President & MD, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, said: “It has been our endeavour to bring the very best and latest connected car technologies into India and we are delighted that our tech-savvy customers can now enjoy a safer and more secure driving experience.”
