Honda India announced that its compact sedan, the Amaze, has crossed 1 lakh sales mark in India since its launch in May 2018. Honda says, to commemorate the success of not only the sales figure but being the fastest 1 lakh sales number recorded by any new model launched by Honda in India, they launched the new Ace edition of their Amaze. The prices range from Rs 7.89 lakh for the petrol manual to the diesel CVT variant that closes the cap at Rs 9.72 lakh.
The Amaze Ace Edition is available with the Honda’s 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. Both units are available with 5-speed manual as well as a CVT gearbox option. The new Honda Amaze Ace edition will be based on the top grade VX in both petrol and diesel. In terms of styling the Amaze Ace gets black alloy wheels along with a spoiler on the boot lid, trim bits on the doors, seat covers with Ace edition embroidery, visors on the door and of course, the Ace edition badging. The Ace edition will be available in three colors – Radiant Red, Lunar Silver and White Orchid Pearl.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President & Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “All New 2nd Generation Honda Amaze has been a game changer for HCIL achieving exceptional success with over 1 lakh sales in record 13 months translating into 20% higher sales as compared to 1st Gen Amaze that was launched in 2013. The bold styling of Amaze has appealed to lot of SUV intenders and First time buyers.”
The Ace edition becomes the second special edition sedan that is based on Honda’s Amaze, the first being the Amaze Exclusive Edition which was based on the top spec manual petrol and diesel model. However, this does not change when it comes to its rivals; it still goes up against the Ford Aspire, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Volkswagen Ameo and Hyundai Xcent.
