It’s exactly a year since we pulled off the most epic Ferrari story ever done in India — where we took the first 488 Pista to be delivered in the country and went flat-out across the Rann of Kutch. To celebrate, this month we’ve brought together five special edition Ferrari V8s. We start off with the 348 GT Competizione, the original special series car that was based on the 348 TB. We then trace the evolution of this format with the 360 Challenge Stradale, F430 Scuderia, 458 Speciale and finally, with the advent of turbocharging, the 488 Pista. We dive deeper than the specs and numbers though, getting behind the wheel of each of these cars and showing you how the driving experience has evolved over time.

Closer to home we have the comparison tests you have waiting for — pitting the 2020 Tata Harrier against the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and the MG Hector — to see which mid-size SUV is the king. One segment higher we have tried to make sense of the Kia Carnival’s pricing, bringing along a Toyota Innova Crysta for perspective.

Sedans are making a comeback and how! We’ve driven four new C-segment sedans starting with the new Honda City and, of course, the Hyundai Verna and TSI-engined VW Vento and Skoda Rapid. This segment has suddenly burst in to life with plenty of fun-to-drive cars and we couldn’t be more excited!

In the Fast Bikes section we bring you a review of the Kawasaki Z H2 along with another massively important comparison — KTM 390 Adventure with the Hero Xpulse 200 and Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Here’s what you can find inside the issue:

Tata has refreshed the Harrier with a more powerful engine and automatic gearbox, and our social media has been flooded with questions about how it fares against its rivals. We pit the new Harrier against the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and the MG Hector. Which SUV comes out on top? Read our story to find out!

VW Polo x evo India

The Volkswagen Polo’s journey in India is inextricably linked to the journey of evo India magazine — after all, the founders of the mag decided to set it up after they set up a rally team and developed the first rally Polos in India. In this story, we look back at the epic stories we have executed with the Polo, right from issue 01 where we pit the GT TSI against the Polo Cup car on a racetrack to the previous issue of the magazine where we reviewed the new Polo with its 1-litre TSI engine.

Ferrari Special Series

Is there a more iconic car than a Ferrari? Exactly a year after we took a Ferrari 488 Pista to the Rann of Kutch, our cover story delves in to the Pista’s legacy and the cars it follows in the wake of. The Ferrari Special Series cars have always been extremely desirable, but they have evolved dramatically over the years. We trace their skid marks from the first one — the 348 GT C, through three decades of evolution with the 360 Challenge Stradale, F430 Scuderia, 438 Speciale and finally, the Pista.

Kia Carnival v Toyota Innova Crysta

The Kia Carnival is attempting what no MPV has done before — one-upping the Toyota Innova Crysta. The Carnival offers a lot more space and luxury, but it also costs a fair bit more money. The question we are trying to answer is — is the Carnival worth all the extra cash Kia is asking for it?

Anatomy of an F1 car

In the 1980s, Formula 1 cars were largely turbocharged, and possibly the wildest of them all was the Williams-Honda FW11.
