The concept car packs a 2-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-charged engine developing 520bhp and 504Nm of peak twist. The front-wheel drive car gets a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The concept gets Ohlins adjustable dampers. The 20 inch bespoke Cyan wheels. The car remains light at 1287kg.
Speaking on this programme, Mattias Evensson, head of engine development, Cyan Racing said: “What you aim for when developing a race engine does not differ from when developing an engine for a performance road car.”
The company did this programme with Volvo V60 and the V60 Polestar with their previous motorsports partners. This Lynk & Co 03 Cyan Concept is Cyan Racing’s interpretation of a race car for the road which utilizes the same technology as the Lynk & Co 03 TCR race cars that Cyan Racing will compete with in the 2019 FIA World Touring Car Cup.
Thed Björk, racing and development driver for Cyan Racing, said “This concept might be a bit extreme. We have learned that in order to explore the true characteristics of a car you need to push it to its maximum and that is just what we are doing right now with this car.”
Next up in the Lynk & Co 03 Cyan Concept road car’s development programme is to join the race team in pre-season.
