VinFast electric SUVs showcased at Auto Expo 2025; VF 7 and VF 6 India launch this year

Vietnamese automaker VinFast Auto has showcased an array of its electric SUVs at the Auto Expo 2025—from the tiny and super cute VF 3, to its flagship model, the seven-seat VF 9. Established in 2017, the brand will launch two of its cars—the VF 6 and VF 7—before the festive season and we expect the prices to be very competitive as these two will be locally assembled at the brand's plant in Tamil Nadu. Other VinFast models will be launched later. Here's a quick look at the VF 7 and VF 6.

VinFast VF 7

The VinFast VF 7 is a 5-seat crossover with a futuristic design. Up front, it gets the brand's signature V motif DRLs and a split-LED headlight setup. It's bonnet had a few sharp lines and it also getsba sloping roofline with a floating C-pillar design. It gets the option of two wheel sizes 19- and 20-inches depending on the variant you opt for, speaking of which there are two—Eco and Plus. At the back, the car gets a full-width wrap-around LED tail light and a smart looking spoiler.

On the inside, the VF 7 features a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen—on the Eco variant—or a bigger 15-inch unit on the Plus model which is tilted towards the driver. Other features include a Level 2 ADAS, a head-up display, dual-zone air-con, wireless charging and seat coolers.

Powering the VF 7 is a 75.3kWh battery pack, which is coupled to a single motor on the Eco variant. This motor makes 204hp and 310Nm of torque. The Plus variant gets a dual-motor setup which boasts a combined output of 354hp and 500Nm. VinFast claims a WLTP-rated range of 450km for the VF 7 Eco and 431km for the Plus.

VinFast VF 6

The VF 6 is a front-wheel-drive subcompact SUV which is powered by a 59.6kWh battery. This battery boasts a WLTP-claimed range of 399km on a single charge. The VF 6’s motor churns out 176bp and 250Nm on its lower Eco variant. The higher Plus variant gets more range—381km—albiet with the same battery. It also boasts a higher power 201bhp and 310Nm power output.

The VF 6 is a five-seater and just like ots elder sibling, it also gets a Vinfast's V motif DRLs on its front-end and a floating C-pillar design.

On the feature front, both variants of the VF 6 gets a Level 2 ADAS, a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, front seat coolers and wireless connectivity.
