The 2024 BMW 4 Series Coupe and 4 Series Convertible gets a new set of headlights and laser taillights, updated BMW iDrive system, 48V mild hybrid technology and optional M Carbon exterior packages.
The BMW 4 Series Coupe and 4 Series Convertible gets a new set of headlights and laser taillights. Optional adaptive LED headlights with non-dazzling matrix high beam are available. They can be identified by blue inlays and a cornering light function. Optional M Sport package Pro gets the M Shadowline lights with dark inner accents and if specced with optional comfort access, the headlights generate a welcome light animation. A choice of two solid and eight metallic paint finishes are offered, including new Cape York Green metallic and Fire Red metallic shades. The M light-alloy wheels get a double-spoke design that can be specced in either Jet Black or a bi-colour finish. Moreover, new BMW Individual light-alloy wheels with a Y-spoke design finished in Matte Grey, and 20-inch M Performance forged wheels are also available. Optional M Carbon exterior package comprises – carbon-fibre exterior mirror caps, inserts for the outer air intakes, rear spoiler and rear diffuser.
The BMW 4 Series Coupe and 4 Series Convertible get two engine options for the M Performance version. An inline-six petrol engine that puts out 369bhp and 500Nm of torque, and a straight-six diesel engine that puts out 335bhp and 700Nm. Both the engine options are combined with a 48V mild-hybrid motor that generates 11bhp of boost. The line-up also includes two four-cylinder petrol engines developing 181bhp and 241bhp, and a 188bhp four-cylinder diesel. The engine’s power is fed to the road via either rear-wheel drive or the BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system, depending on the variant. All engines are mated to an eight-speed steptronic transmission, while the M Performance variants also get M Sport brakes and an M Sport differential.
The BMW 4 Series Coupe and 4 Series Convertible gets an updated BMW iDrive system with BMW operating system 8.5, integrated into a 14.9-inch infotainment screen and 12.3-inch instrument cluster. It gets a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heads-up display (HUD) and connected car features. It gets ADAS level 2 and Parking Assistant feature as standard that enables automated moving into and out of parking spaces. Dark Graphite matte shade is now standard for the interiors. The M Sport package includes interior trim strips in aluminium rhombicle anthracite or carbon-fibre. The gear selector lever, iDrive controller and start/stop button can also be specced with glass, like in the BMW X7. The M Performance variants get sport seats trimmed in the new M Performtex upholstery or alcantara for the Coupe and Vernasca leather for the Convertible, M door sill trim, M pedals, and M-specific graphics for the BMW curved display.
The BMW 4 Series Coupe goes up against the Audi A5 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. The BMW 4 Series Convertible rivals the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet and the Audi A5 Cabriolet.
