Porsche has introduced three new models of the Porsche Taycan EV, namely the Taycan GTS, the GTS Sport Turismo and the Taycan 4. The three new models get updates in the terms of design, technology and equipment, in-line with the updated Taycan that Porsche brought at the beginning of the year. This includes a new rear axle motor with up to 107bhp more power.

The Taycan GTS can be had as a sedan or a Sport Turismo shooting brake and gets 691bhp of power when using launch control  – which is 100bhp more than its predecessor. With the new ‘push-to-pass’ function in the standard Sport Chrono package, a boost of 94bhp can be called upon for a duration of 10 seconds. Both the Taycan GTS sedan and the GTS Sport Turismo can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 3.3 seconds – 0.4 seconds faster than their predecessors. The sedan takes 10.4 seconds for the 0 to 200kmph sprint – 1.6 seconds faster than before. The range has also been increased to 628km as per WLTP – which is 120km more than before.

New to the Taycan GTS compared to its predecessor are the Sport design front and rear aprons with inlays painted in high-gloss back, along with the ORVMs. The interior has also been adopted from the Taycan Turbo GT. For example, such as the adaptive sports seats, the GT multifunction sports steering wheel with the mode switch as well as the Sport Chrono package are from the Taycan Turbo GT. A Bose surround sound system is standard.

Buyers can now have the entry-level Taycan with all-wheel-drive in the form of a sedan with the Taycan 4. Depending on the battery type fitted, the Taycan produces 402bhp of power, or 429bhp when using launch control. The range also depends on the battery type. With the standard performance battery, the range is 559km (WLTP). With the Performance Plus battery, the Taycan 4 can travel up to 643km (WLTP).

The Taycan 4 takes 4.6 seconds to accelerate from 0-100kmph, two tenths of a second faster than its RWD model sibling. The front electric motor is also electrically decoupled in favour of efficiency, whenever traction allows it. Externally, the standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels and black brake callipers as well as matrix LED headlights. In addition, Porsche Traction Management, adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management are also fitted as standard.

This brings the total number of Taycan variants available to 16, making for a wide spectrum of models for a potential Taycan buyer to choose from, be it on the basis of performance, range, or body style.
