Skoda has revealed pricing for all variants of the Skoda Kylaq sub-4m SUV, and prices for the Kylaq start from ₹7.89 lakh, going all the way up to ₹14.4 lakh for the top-spec variant with all the bells and whistles. All prices mentioned here are ex-showroom prices. The Kylaq is the brand’s first sub-4m car in India after the Fabia hatchback, and it shares its engine and platform with the Skoda Kushaq. The Kylaq will go up against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Sonet, the Mahindra XUV 3X0, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Tata Nexon .

Skoda Kylaq pricing

As reported earlier, prices for the entry-level Kylaq start from ₹7.89 lakh for the base Classic variant, and it can only be had with the manual transmission. The Signature variant can be had with either the manual or the automatic transmission, and prices for the same are ₹9.59 lakh and ₹10.59 lakh respectively. One rung higher are the Signature+ variants, priced at ₹11.4 lakh and ₹12.4 lakh, with the automatic being the more expensive variant. The top-spec Prestige variant is priced at ₹13.35 lakh and ₹14.4 lakh, for the manual or the automatic transmission respectively. Skoda is also offering a complimentary 3-year standard maintenance package to the first 33,333 customers, which will effectively bring the maintenance cost of the Kylaq down to ₹0.24 per kilometre for the first five years. Bookings for the Kylaq open today at 4pm, with deliveries commencing from January 27, 2025.

The top-spec Prestige variant of the Kylaq gets a 10-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Skoda Kylaq features

The entry-level Classic variant of the Kylaq is equipped with 6 airbags as standard, 15-inch wheels, LED headlamps and tail lamps, a height adjustable driver’s seat, electrically adjustable mirrors and analogue dials for the instrument cluster among other features. The Signature variants build on the kit offered by adding features which include 16-inch silver alloy wheels, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, TPMS, a cooled glovebox and a multifunction steering wheel.

The Signature+ variant is a further step up on the Signature like the name suggests, adding features such as an 8-inch digital cockpit for the driver, a 10-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear view camera, automatic climate control, hill-hold control, keyless entry and an engine start/stop button. The top-spec Prestige variant is equipped with all of the aforementioned features and more, including an electric sunroof, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps with a cornering function, ambient lighting for the interior, 6-way electrically adjustable front seats, paddle shifters and a wireless phone charger.

Skoda Kylaq engine

The Kylaq shares its engine with the Kushaq, and is powered by the 1-litre TSI petrol engine making 114bhp of power and 178Nm of torque. This engine can be mated either to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic, the latter getting paddle shifters and a sport mode as well. The Kylaq can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 10.5 seconds with the manual transmission.

Prices of the Kylaq range from ₹7.89 lakh, going all the way up to ₹14.4 lakh for the top-spec variant

The Skoda Kylaq is aimed at the masses and given how much our market loves SUVs, the Kylaq could achieve some serious success in India. But will it deliver on the Thrill of Driving chops like its elder sibling, the Kushaq? Only a road test will help us find that out – stay tuned.
