Price comparison: Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo 

Hyundai India has launched the Grand i10 Nios at Rs. 4.99 lakh(ex-showroom, India). The Grand i10 Nios will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo. However, the Grand i10 will also be sold alongside the Grand i10 Nios and hence, we have included the prices for reference. We have compared how Hyundai’s latest offering stacks up to the competition.

The 4.99 lakh price tag for the Grand i10 Nios undercuts the prices of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Ford Figo by Rs. 14,000 and Rs. 23,000 respectively but is just a thousand rupees more than that of the Grand i10. The diesel engine option however is Rs. 56,000 more expensive that the Grand i10 but is importantly priced Rs. 33,000 lower than that of the Swift. The entry-level diesel Ford Figo though is priced lower by Rs. 57,000 as compared to the Grand i10 Nios.

Things get interesting with the better specced Petrols as the Grand i10 Nios undercuts the competition by a fair margin and it also gets a number of segment-first features. It is similar with the top-spec diesel as well as the Grand i10 Nios undercuts the Swift, its primary competition, by Rs. 90,000.
