New-gen Skoda Kodiaq and Skoda Superb confirmed for India launch in 2025

The new-gen Skoda Kodiaq SUV will be making its way to our shores in 2025, most likely in the month of May. Petr Janeba, brand director for Skoda Auto India has confirmed the news, along with the fact that the next generation Skoda Superb will also be making its way to India in 2025.

Janeba said, “New Superb coming to India is planned for next year. Next year is a year full of surprises. And a new Kodiaq was promised to come.” Talking about the Kodiaq, Janeba said, “I mean some of you have already seen some cars driving around Aurangabad. So they are already being tested. The first cars were assembled. The assembly is starting in March (2025). And we will bring the car to the market probably in May.”

The next-generation Kodiaq now gets a design that is in-line with Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design philosophy, along with a new generation of Matrix LED headlamps. On the inside, the Kodiaq now offers a roomier interior that features sustainable materials and additional kit, such as a head-up display, Skoda’s ‘Smart Dials’ with haptic controls, and a 13-inch infotainment system with ChatGPT integration. Also on offer is a digital cockpit for the driver, and the gear selector now moves to the steering column. The Skoda Kodiaq also comes with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC Plus). In terms of the powertrain, globally, the Kodiaq is offered with a choice of five powertrains which include plug-in hybrids, though it is likely that the India-spec Kodiaq will be offered with the 2-litre TSI engine that produces 201bhp of power. 

When it comes to the Skoda Superb, the next-generation model also follows Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design and has grown in its dimensions. You get an octagonal grille and matrix LED headlamps that offer more illumination than before and include new Crystallinium design elements. The interior features a cleaner design for the dashboard, with a free-standing 13-inch infotainment display with ChatGPT integration, and the gear selector has moved to the steering column. A HUD is optional for the first time on the Superb.

Also new is a ventilated phone box that allows for fast-charging of your smartphone. You get ambient lighting and the seats also come with a pneumatic massage function. Like the Kodiaq, the Superb also gets Dynamic Chassis Control. Globally you get a total of six powertrain choices with the Superb, but what we will likely get in India is the 2-litre TSI engine in the same state of tune as the new Kodiaq.
