JSW MG Motor India has confirmed that the MG M9 Limousine electric Luxury MPV will be launched in India. It will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 alongside the Cyberster electric sports car and sold at MG’s upcoming Select outlets across 12 cities in India. While powertrain and battery details aren’t confirmed yet, the M9 may boast a 90kWh battery with a range of up to 500km on a single charge.

MG M9 design and interior

The MG M9 was first showcased in India as the MG Mifa 9 at the 2023 Auto Expo and two years down the line, the brand has now confirmed that it will be sold in India. In true MG fashion, this luxury electric MPV gets a radical styling, with a huge full-width LED light feature at the rear and a full-width light bar connecting the front DRLs as well. It has a split-LED headlight design and gets a sharp front lip. The front bumper houses a big grille down low and even an ADAS sensor which hits at autonomous driving capabilities. In profile, the MPV rides on 19-inch diamond cut alloys and gets sliding doors at the rear—which are automated.

Step inside and you'll notice that the M9 gets a seven-seat layout with two utterly comfortable looking captain ottoman seats for the middle row. These seats offer a plethora of functions including reclining, 8 massage modes, heating and ventilation, all of which can be controlled via two touchscreen panels provided on the handrests. Other features on the M9 include a 3-zone climate control, dual-sunroofs and rear seat entertainment screens.

MG M9 powertrain, expected price and launch details

JSW MG Motor India hasn’t given away the powertrain details of the M9 luxury MPV yet, but we expect it to boast a large 90kWh battery which will promise up to 500km on a single charge. This battery will have DC fast charging capabilities and will power a single motor at the front, making the M9 front-wheel-drive, which churns out 241bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. The MG M9 will come to India via the CBU route which will make it a little expensive. We expect it to demand anywhere between Rs 75-85 lakh, ex-showroom. It will rival the likes of the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Vellfire, both of which are ICE-powered luxury MPVs. The MG M9 will be sold in MG’s Select stores across 12 cities alongside the MG Cyberster sports car.
