Mercedes-Benz unveils EQA 250+ SUV, to launch on 8th July

Mercedes-Benz India has unveiled their most affordable and smallest electric SUV that is slated to go on sale from July 8

German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has geared up to capitalise on the growing electric market and unveiled its entry-level electric SUV - EQA. Mercedes-Benz EQA is the brand's fourth electric offering after EQB, EQE and EQS SUVs. Globally, EQA is available in three variants - 300 4Matic, 350 4Matic and 250+. However, In India the EQA  will be available only in 250+ variant. EQA debuted in the European market back in 2021, and got a facelift for 2024. Here's everything you need to know about the Mercedes-Benz EQA.

Mercedes-Benz EQA - Design 

Mercedes-Benz EQA is an electric derivative of the ICE-powered GLA. The car measures 4463mm in length, 1834mm in width and 1624mm in height. The front design fascia of the EQA resembles that of its larger siblings. It gets a blanked-off grille featuring a tri-pointed star pattern. Above the grille is a full-width LED bar merging with the DRLs of the headlamps. When viewed from the side, the wheelbase is the same as that of GLA, but a noticeable difference is the new 19-inch aero-optimised AMG wheels. At  the rear, GLA also features a full-width LED light bar. 

Mercedes-Benz EQA- Interiors

Inside, the dashboard layout is mostly  similar to that of GLA. It features a 10.25-inch infotainment unit and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. Being a Mercedes-Benz, it comes with a lot of features, including an MBUX system, HUD, 360-degree camera and a 710W 12-speaker Burmester sound system. Special attention is given to sustainability, wherein the seat fabrics are made from recycled materials. 

Mercedes-Benz EQA- Range and performance 

Mercedes-Benz EQA 250+ gets a 70.5kWh battery with a claimed WLTP range of 560km. The EQA puts out 187bhp of peak power and 385 Nm of torque, capable of a 0-100kmph sprint in 8.6 seconds with a top speed capped at 160kmph. The Mercedes-Benz EQA battery can be charged from 10-80 percent in just 35 minutes with the 100kW DC fast charger. 

Mercedes-Benz EQA - Pricing and rivals

Mercedes-Benz EQA 250+ will be launched in the Indian market on 8th July, and we expect the pricing to be around the Rs 60 lakh mark. Upon launch Mercedes-Benz EQA will compete with Volvo XC40 Recharge, C40 Recharge, Kia EV6 and BMW iX1.
