Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLE 300d AMG Line at ₹97.85 lakh and it replaces the standard GLE 300d which was ₹1.2 lakh cheaper. The other variants – GLE 450 and 450d get the AMG Line kit as standard. The AMG Line adds styling elements, new wheels and larger brake discs.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d AMG Line gets the AMG kit with styling elements – diamond grille, larger air inlets at the front, AMG side skirts, air outlets at the rear and a rear diffuser. It also gets 20-inch five-spoke AMG light alloy wheels and larger brake discs at the front.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d AMG Line gets a similar cabin layout as the outgoing GLE 300d. It gets twin 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and the infotainment display, which gets the second generation of MBUX. The car also gets a 590W 13-speaker Burmester sound system as standard.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d AMG Line features the same engine and power outputs as the outgoing GLE 300d. It gets a 2-litre diesel engine with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that pushes out 266bhp + 20bhp (ISG) and 550Nm + 220Nm (ISG), and is mated to a 9-speed automatic. It gets ‘4Matic+’ AWD as standard and sprints from 0 to 100kmph in 6.9 seconds, and gets a top speed of 230kmph. In comparison, the range-topping petrol GLE 450 goes from 0 to 100kmph in 5.6 seconds.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d AMG Line is the entry-level GLE variant and is priced at ₹97.85 lakh. It replaces the GLE 300d which was earlier priced at ₹96.65 lakh. The GLE 300d AMG Line goes up against the BMW X5 priced at ₹97 lakh, the Audi Q7 priced at ₹88.6 lakh and the Volvo XC90 priced at ₹1 crore.
