There are few SUVs that are as iconic as the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, and the SUV has now gone electric! Mercedes-Benz has launched the G580 with EQ Technology in India with prices starting from ₹3 crore for the Edition One trim. The G580 promises to be equally capable off-road as the ICE-powered G-Wagen, and here’s a quick look at what the G580 with EQ Technology packs in.
Mercedes-Benz G580 with EQ Technology design
In terms of the design, the G580 is identical to the ICE-powered G-Wagen, and that is no bad thing because the G-Wagen has gained an iconic, cult status with its boxy shape and immense road presence. The Edition One gets brake callipers finished in blue and the external protective moulding gets blue accents too. You also get the AMG Line, the Night Package with darkened exterior elements such as the headlights, and black 20-inch AMG wheels. Overall, the G580 is identical to the ICE-powered G-Wagen, save for the rumble of an engine under the bonnet, and it even retains the round spare wheel cover at the rear.
