Mahindra Thar Roxx 4x4 variants prices revealed, starts from ₹18.49 lakh

The prices for the Mahindra Thar Roxx 4x2 variants were revealed last month, and the pricing for the 4x4 variants have been announced today. The 4x2 variants are priced between ₹12.99 lakh and ₹20.49 lakh, and the 4x4 versions are priced from ₹18.49 lakh to ₹22.49 lakh. The 4WD variants get intelligent 4x4 features, but can only be bought with the diesel engine.

Mahindra Thar Roxx 4x4 prices

The Mahindra Thar Roxx gets four 4x4 variants on offer. Starting from the MX5 4x4, which is priced at ₹18.79 lakh, making it ₹1.8 lakh more expensive than its RWD counterpart. Moving up the range, the AX5L AT 4x4 comes in at ₹20.99 lakh, which is ₹2 lakh higher than the RWD variant. Similarly, the AX7L MT 4x4 is also priced at ₹20.99 lakh, which costs ₹2 lakh more than its RWD version. At the top of the lineup sits the AX7L AT 4x4, with a price tag of ₹22.49 lakh, which is ₹2 lakh more than the RWD model.

Mahindra Thar Roxx engine and features

Mahindra is offering the Thar Roxx 4x4 with only a 2.2-litre diesel engine in two states of tune — 150bhp and 330Nm for the MT, and 172bhp and 370Nm for the AT. The 4x2 variants are available only in the lower state of tune, that makes 150bhp and 330Nm. Unlike the 4x4 variants of the 3-door Thar that get both petrol and diesel engines on offer, the Thar Roxx only gets the diesel engine.

The 4x4 Roxx models come equipped with Mahindra's 4XPLOR System, which includes terrain-specific modes like Snow, Sand, and Mud, alongside an electronic locking rear differential. 

In addition to the 4XPLOR system, the 4x4 variants feature Smart Crawl and Intelliturn – Smart Crawl is an off-road cruise control system that can be activated between speeds of 2.5kmph and 30kmph, and Intelliturn enables executing sharp turns by locking the inner rear wheel. This feature works at speeds under 15kmph and only for up to 15 seconds.
