Bharat NCAP has released the safety ratings of three Mahindra SUVs – the Thar Roxx, the XUV 3XO and the XUV400 EV – and each of these SUVs has scored five stars in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. All three of these SUVs have scored five stars not just for adult occupant protection, but also for child occupant protection. In addition to this, the Thar Roxx has also scored the highest scores for an ICE (internal combustion vehicle) at the Bharat NCAP crash test.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV is Mahindra’s latest offering, and it is also the first body-on-frame vehicle to score a 5 star rating at the Bharat NCAP crash test. The Thar Roxx scored 31.09 points out of 32 when it comes to adult occupant protection, and the SUV scored 45 points out of 49 when it comes to child occupant protection. This is also the highest score awarded to an ICE-powered vehicle at the Bharat NCAP crash test.
Like the Mahindra Thar Roxx, the XUV 3XO too scored a five star crash safety rating at Bharat NCAP. When it comes to adult occupant protection, the 3XO scored 29.36 points out of 32, and the SUV scored 43 out of 49 points when it comes to child occupant protection.
Unlike the other two SUVs in this Bharat NCAP test, the XUV400 is an EV, but that didn’t stop it from scoring high scores in the crash tests. The XUV400 scored 30.38 points out of 32 for adult occupant protection, while scoring 43 out of 49 points for child occupant protection.
This makes these made-in-India SUVs some of the safest cars you can buy in the country today, truly speaking volumes about Indian engineering. And as for the Thar Roxx, you can definitely expect the tag of India’s safest SUV to further lengthen its already long waiting list.
