2025 Auto Expo: BMW launches iX1 L in India with prices starting from ₹49 lakh
The BMW iX1 L is the long wheelbase electric version of the X1 SUV

BMW has introduced a long wheelbase, electric version of its X1 SUV at the 2025 Auto Expo and it is called the BMW iX1 L. BMW claims that it is the first, long wheelbase EV SUV in the country. It is also the first locally produced electric BMW. Introductory prices for the 2025 BMW iX1 L start from ₹49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Visually, the iX1 L looks identical to the regular iX1 in terms of design, the biggest change is of course in the wheelbase, with the iX1 L sporting a 2800mm wheelbase, as compared to the 2692mm wheelbase of the standard SUV. The battery capacity of the iX1 L is 66.4kWh and the SUV will offer a range of 531km. The battery warranty for this electric SUV is 8 years.
The electric SUV gets a single electric motor on the front axle and it produces a power output of 201bhp along with 250Nm of torque. The iX1 can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in a claimed 8.6 seconds.
In terms of the features, we do know that the iX1 will be well-equipped, with features such as a panoramic sunroof and a 205W 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a curved display and an M Sport steering wheel. The iX1 L will also offer multi-way electrically adjustable sport seats for both the driver and front passenger.
