The BMW M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible gets increased bhp, new headlights and laser taillights, and an optional M Race Track package that includes M Carbon ceramic brakes, M Carbon bucket seats and interior trim strips in high gloss carbon fibre, resulting in a weight reduction of 25 kgs.
The BMW M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible gets a new set of headlights and laser taillights. Optional adaptive LED headlights with anti-glare matrix high beams are available. They are recognisable by the blue inserts and feature an urban light and cornering light function. There’s a new design on the surrounding surface of both the BMW logo and the M logo at the rear of the Competition models. Optional M design graphics for the bonnet and the rear lid are also available. It gets 18-inch M forged light-alloy wheels at the front and 19-inch at the rear as standard.
BMW M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible engine and performance
The BMW M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible get a straight-six petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo that makes 523bhp (+20bhp from before) and 650Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed steptronic transmission for both the cars, alongside an additional 6-speed manual gearbox option that is available only with the M4 Coupe. It is paired with BMW’s four-wheel drive system, ’xDrive’. The M4 Coupe sprints from 0-100kmph in 3.5 seconds, while the M4 Convertible takes 3.7 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited at 250kmph and can be increased upto 290kmph with the optional M driver package.
The BMW M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible gets a 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, with increased M specific information like an M lap timer and an M drift analyser. It gets heated and cooled front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger and a 10-speaker sound system with a 250W amplifier. The M sports seats with Merino leather are standard and offer electrically operated adjustment options, integrated headrests and illuminated model logos. Part of the optional M Race Track package, it gets heated M Carbon bucket seats that result in a weight reduction of 9.6 kgs compared with the standard sports seats. In addition, an air collar system can be ordered as an exclusive option for the BMW M4 Convertible that generates a three-stage adjustable airflow, providing warmth from behind to both driver and front passenger, during open-top driving. Optional M alcantara steering wheel is available, while both the steering wheels get an optional heated function.
The BMW M4 Coupe goes up against the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S, Audi RS5 Sportback and the Porsche 911. The M4 Convertible goes up against the Porsche 911 Cabriolet and the Mercedes-Benz SL.
