Mercedes-AMG has launched the 2024 Mercedes-AMG G63 in India, and the prices for the SUV start from ₹3.6 crore. The AMG G63 is powered by a 4-litre V8 engine that is now electrified with a mild-hybrid system, and the SUV now gets more equipment as standard.
In terms of the design, the iconic shape of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has not been messed around with, but the new G63 does get AMG-specific touches such as flared wheel arches, a new AMG-specific bumper and a more aggressive front fascia as compared to the standard G-Class. You can also choose from the 29 MANUFAKTUR exterior paint options available in addition to the standard paint schemes, to customise the G63 as per your taste.
The AMG G63 is equipped with the latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment system, and it also includes AR (augmented reality) navigation. The interior is done up in nappa leather with high quality materials and also gets customisable ambient lighting. You can also choose from the 31 MANUFAKTUR upholstery options to customise the interiors. Other additions to the tech include an off-road cockpit on the dashboard that allows you easy access to the off-road functions, along with a more comprehensive suite of ADAS functions.
The G63 is powered by a bi-turbo 4-litre V8 which is now electrified with 48V mild hybrid tech. The power output stands at 577bhp, with an additional 20bhp boost provided by the mild hybrid tech when required. The top speed of the AMG G63 is 240kmph, and the power is sent to all four wheels via the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, and the G63 also gets AMG Active Ride Control suspension. The new AMG G63 now features Race Start (launch control) and the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 4.3 seconds.
Prices for the new Mercedes-AMG G63 start from ₹3.6 crore onwards and the first batch of the SUV, consisting of 120+ units, has already been reserved in India. However, bookings for Q3 2025 have reopened today for the Mercedes-AMG G63.
