Whats’s new?
MG has introduced a seven-seater arrangement based on response and enquiries from customers for the top-end model, which was only available as a six-seater earlier. Other than the new bench seat in the middle row (two+three+two configuration), the new variant packs the same fully-loaded features as the earlier Savvy variant.
“We are introducing the Gloster Savvy with a 7-seater configuration in response to requests from our customers. With this addition to the existing Gloster Savvy with 6-seater configuration, we are offering our customers the power to choose a vehicle as per their needs and preferences,” says Gaurav Gupta, chief commercial officer, MG Motor India at the launch.
The MG Gloster Savvy comes packed with features available on the six-seat variant, such as automatic parking assist along with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning which are part of the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Other features include 64-colour ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, driver seat massager and more. The interiors also include a 12.3-inch infotainment system featuring i-smart connected car tech along with Android Auto & Apple Carplay.
On the engine front, there is no change, the Savvy seven-seater gets the same engine as the Savvy six-seater and the Sharp variant, a 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215bhp and 480Nm of peak torque. The lower variants get a 2-litre turbo diesel engine producing 163bhp and 375Nm of torque.
The MG Gloster goes up against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour with the former’s price ranging from Rs 30.34 to 37.79 lakh and the latter’s price ranging from Rs 33.8 to 36.2 lakh.
