The first-ever electric Maybach has been unveiled in India, with the introduction of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV. As expected with any Mercedes-Maybach, the EQS SUV oozes luxury and is packed to the gills with equipment. The EQS SUV EV is powered by a dual motor setup and gets a claimed range of 611km as per the WLTP cycle.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV design

Starting with the design, the EQS SUV gets a black panel radiator shell with vertical pinstripes and the air inlet grilles also get Maybach logo patterns. The headlights of the EQS SUV feature 1 million pixels per light and also get an ultra range high beam. The Maybach name appears on the centre chrome line that connects the two headlamps which display a special light show when you enter and leave the car. The car comes with a lot of Mercedes-specific elements like the black front panel and the vertical chrome lines on the Maybach radiator grille. The chrome lines are extended to the lower air intake as well. The radar sensor is now inbuilt and completely hidden from the eye. Chrome is used extensively throughout and can be found around the windows and lower door linings, on the rear apron, and the spoiler lip as well. You will find an EQS badge on the front window triangle and the Maybach sign on the D-pillar. The SUV rolls on 21-inch as standard while 22-inch wheels are optional. The rear gets a continuous light strip too with similar animation as the front. From the factory, you get five dual-tone options and the single-tone colour options are also available, but Maybach' are all about customisation so you will get the option to choose the colour you like.

With the standard MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment, content can be shared quickly and easily on the various displays. It is also possible to select and modify the navigation destinations from the rear seats. The standard equipment also includes the MBUX rear tablet, which can also be used outside the vehicle, and the MBUX Interior Assist. Like the front seats, the standard Executive seats are equipped with ventilation, massage function and neck and shoulder heating. There is also a calf massage and the Chauffeur Package. As soon as the right rear passenger chooses the reclining position, the front passenger seat automatically moves forward to the chauffeur position. The massage programmes are also available, and you can also opt for first class seating with two individual reclining rear seats.
