The 2019-20 ABB Formula E championship saw the Indian racing team — Mahindra Racing — bag the ninth spot in the table, over the course of six races, competing over a nine-day period. After a five-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mahindra Racing fielded Jerome D’Ambrosio and Formula 3 champion, Alex Lynn as their team racing drivers.
Across the six races, Jerome and Alex bagged five point-scoring results with Alex finishing fifth in round ten. The drivers finished 16th and 17th with 19 and 16 points in the championship, respectively. As aforementioned, Mahindra Racing ended the season in the ninth spot of the constructor’s table, scoring 49 points.
Alex managed to climb the ranks over his teammate in a matter of just six of the eleven rounds held in the calendar. Jerome said that the season was a tough one for him, as he struggled with pace in the last few races. Alex was satisfied with the way the season panned out and especially joyous about leaving a DS Techeetah car behind him in the last leg.
Team principal, Dilbagh Gill tested positive for COVID-19 before the event. He self-isolated in a hotel room and communicated with team manager David Clarke and chief engineer Toni Cuquerella in the pits for the entire sixth season of Formula E.
