There are already four variants of the Lamborghini Huracan on sale in India, and now a fifth one joins the lineup! Presenting the new Lamborghini Huracan STO, a road-legal supercar designed to make you smile on the racetrack. The Huracan STO draws inspiration from the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO race series, and the Huracan GT3 EVO race car but comes with the ability to register it on the road.

The Lamborghini Huracan STO features the same 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine as the Huracan Evo, producing 630bhp and 565Nm of torque, 35Nm lesser than the Huracan Evo. The Huracan STO will cover a 0-100kmph run in just 3 seconds, maxing out at a top speed of 310kmph.

Lamborghini Huracan STO Aerodynamics

The Huracan STO is a car with its focus on the racetrack while being road-legal, and it shows. It features an aggressive body kit with a liberal usage of lightweight materials. For example, the front bonnet, bumpers, and fenders are made entirely out of one single component. Lamborghini likes to call it ‘cofango’, as this clever bit combines the entire front section together in one piece, thus paying homage to the Miura and the Sesto elemento. The ‘cofango’ also features air vents on the front bonnet that aid in cooling down the engine and also generating downforce, while a front splitter directs airflow to the underbody and rear diffuser of the car.

Coming to the rear, the NACA air intake on the rear fender doubles up as an engine air intake and also aids in the reduction of drag, while increasing downforce and improving the overall aerodynamic efficiency. In addition, the adjustable rear wing optimizes the aerodynamic balance and drag resistance, while the shark fin aids in improving the dynamic abilities of the car during cornering by generating a yaw angle with incoming airflow. The rear hood also features an air-scoop along with air deflectors to cool down the engine.

All the clever aerodynamic bits have increased the airflow efficiency of the Huracan STO by 37 per cent, while producing 53 per cent more downforce compared to the Huracan Performante. The Huracan STO weighs just 1339 kgs which is 43 kgs lighter than the Huracan Performante, owing to the fact that 75 per cent of its body uses carbonfibre panels.

Lamborghini Huracan STO Equipment and Interiors

The Huracan STO features three different ANIMA driving modes which can be accessed via the Lamborghini Veicolo Dinamica Integrata system to alter the characteristics of the car based on different driving environments, ranging from STO, Trofeo, and Pioggia. It is also equipped with an adjustable ESC (Electronic Stability Control) system. In addition, the touchscreen infotainment system of the Huracan STO features a Human Machine Interface (HMI) system which will display information about the LDVI system as well the driving modes, tyre pressure, and brake temperatures. Drivers will also be able to analyse their performance on the racetrack with the help of the UNICA app.

The interiors of the Huracan STO receives Alcantara upholstery and also makes use of carbonfibre elements, especially on the cockpit and the performance seats. Even the door panels are made of lightweight carbonfibre. Such is the emphasis on using lightweight materials by Lamborghini!

Lamborghini has priced the Huracan STO at Rs 4.99 crore (ex-showroom), which makes it costlier than the Huracan Evo that’s priced at Rs 3.73 crore (ex-showroom). Considering the fact that electric and hybrid Lambos are on the way, if you want to enjoy the naturally-aspirated V10 engines, the time is now!
