Citroen has announced prices for its EV hatchback, the E-C3, and prices start from Rs 11.5 lakh. The Tata Tiago EV-rivalling hatchback from Citroen will be offered in a choice of four variants, with prices for the top-spec trim going up to Rs 12.43 lakh.
The electric E-C3 looks no different compared to the ICE-powered C3, except for a few electric badges and a charging lid on the front fender. The E-C3 continues to get funky colour schemes like the petrol-powered version and 15-inch steel wheels. With the attractive design, you won’t mistake the E-C3 for anything else on the road, except for maybe, a petrol C3.
It is a similar story on the inside, with the interior of the E-C3 looking identical to that of its petrol sibling. The traditional gear lever makes way for drive mode selector switches that are identical to the C5’s and the E-C3 gets a 10.24-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Meanwhile, the instrument cluster now shows the battery charge level and range readouts. The equipment levels on the E-C3 are identical to the petrol C3 hatchback.
Powering the E-C3 is an electric motor that makes the equivalent of 56bhp of power and 143Nm of torque. 0-60kmph comes up in a claimed 6.8 seconds and the claimed range offered by the 29.2kWh battery pack is 320km (MIDC cycle).
Prices for the Citroen E-C3 start from Rs 11.5 lakh for the base Live variant, going up to Rs 12.43 lakh for the top-spec Feel Dual Tone Vibe Pack variant (all prices ex-showroom).
