The entry point to Land Rover’s range, the Discovery Sport, has been launched with interior and exterior upgrades. The Discovery Sport offers Land Rover’s signature off-road oriented character alongside features like a 7-seat layout that can be configured in 24 different combinations and Land Rover’s trademark Terrain Response system.
The 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport gets subtle exterior updates on the Dynamic variant, such as a contrasting black roof and exterior accents including a gloss black finish for the Discovery badge, grille, lower body sills, and lower bumpers. Further gloss black detailing features on the bumpers and wheel arches, with the 19-inch alloy wheels featuring a diamond turned finish. The 2024 Discovery Sport also gets a new colour option in Varesine Blue.
The 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport gets revised interiors featuring an 11.4-inch curved glass Pivi Pro touchscreen in the centre console. The Pivi Pro infotainment system allows occupants to access 90 per cent of infotainment features within two taps from the home screen. Also standard is a digital instrument cluster, and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters. The gear shifter has also been redesigned and is surrounded by a natural shadow oak trim. The Discovery Sport retains its 7-seater layout that allows up to 24 seat configurations with a reclining second row that features a 40:20:40 split. The Discovery Sport features DuoLeather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof.
The 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport comes with a petrol and a diesel engine option. The 2.0-litre petrol produces 245bhp and 365Nm, and the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel produces 201bhp and 430Nm. Both engines get a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The Discovery Sport gets Land Rover’s Terrain Response system and several on and off-road features including Adaptive Dynamics, Dynamic Stability Control, and Electronic Brake Force Distribution.
The 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The centre console allows wireless smartphone charging in addition to two USB-C chargers in each row and a 12V socket in the second row and the boot. All three rows get climate control featuring Land Rover’s Cabin Air Purification Plus system with PM2.5 filtration and CO2 management. The Discovery Sport also gets 3D surround cameras, a transparent bonnet function, and a digital rear view mirror which provides unobstructed views of the car’s rear regardless of what is in the back.
The 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 67.90 lakhs. It will go up against the Mercedes-Benz GLC (Rs 73.50 lakh ex-showroom), the BMW X3 (Rs 68.50 lakh ex-showroom), and the Audi Q5 (Rs 62.35 lakh ex-showroom).
