BMW launches ‘Shadow edition’ of the 3-Series

BMW has launched a special edition of the 3-Series, named the ‘Shadow Edition’. It’s a limited-run product and is priced at Rs 41.40 lakh for the 320d Sport variant and Rs 47.30 lakh for the 330i M Sport variant(all prices, ex-showroom, India). The petrol Shadow Edition is Rs 2.2 lakh more expensive than the standard 330i M Sport.

The primary visual differentiators are the smoked head and tail lights on the Shadow edition. The special edition also sports a high-gloss black finish on its kidney grille, black chrome exhaust tips and gets 18-inch wheels.

The interiors get red and black colour upholstery, a 10.5-inch digital instrument cluster, M Sport leather steering wheel and a 8.7-inch infotainment display featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features that are standard include a reverse camera, parking sensors, a 205W stereo.The 330i also gets a variable sport steering.

Mechanically, both the variants remain identical to the standard cars. The 330i M Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine making 249bhp and 350Nm of torque, while the 320d Sport uses a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel developing 188bhp and 400Nm of torque. Both the variants get an eight-speed auto box. The 330i will crack the ton in 5.8 seconds while the 320d will do it in 7.2 seconds.
