Triumph has taken the wraps off its Tiger Sport 800 motorcycle, and it is powered by an all new 800cc triple engine. Producing 113bhp of power and 84Nm of torque, the engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and here’s what the motorcycle offers.

Triumph Tiger Sport 800 design, chassis and suspension

The design of the Tiger makes it look striking on the road, and the motorcycle gets sculpted aerodynamic bodywork, along with standard fit wind deflectors. The Triumph also gets all-LED lamps with DRLs. You can have the Tiger Sport 800 in four colour schemes globally, and the suspension duties are handled by adjustable Showa suspension. At the front you get a 41mm Showa upside down separate function cartridge forks with rebound and compression damping adjustment. At the rear, you get a Showa monoshock that comes with rebound damping adjustment, with 150mm of travel, along with a remote hydraulic preload adjuster. In terms of the brakes, you get radial-mounted 4-piston brake callipers and twin 310mm front discs, while a single piston sliding calliper with a 255mm disc does duty at the rear. The motorcycle also gets lightweight cast aluminium wheels, wrapped in Michelin Road 5 sports touring tyres.

Triumph Tiger Sport 800 engine

Powering the Triumph is an all-new 800cc triple engine, that produces 113bhp of power and 84Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox with Triumph Shift Assist as standard. You also get a slip and assist clutch to improve rideability.

Triumph Tiger Sport 800 features

The Tiger Sport 800 gets three riding modes – Sport, Road and Rain – with each riding mode altering the throttle response. You also get optimised cornering ABS and traction control, which calculates the bike’s lean angle from a 6-axis IMU and automatically adjusts the level of intervention required by the electronics. The Tiger Sport 800 is also equipped with cruise control. Additional features include a multifunction display with an LCD upper section above an integrated colour TFT screen. The My Triumph Connectivity System is fitted as standard, which for turn-by-turn navigation, phone and music information, all controlled via Bluetooth.
