First displayed at the Auto Expo 2020, Suzuki has now launched the Burgman Street BS6 at Rs 77,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is a premium of Rs 7,000 over the BS4 model. The updates for the BS6 variant include fuel injection and addition of engine kill switch.

The Suzuki Burgman Street BS6 uses an all-aluminum single-cylinder, fuel-injected 124cc engine, delivering 8.5bhp and 10Nm. Though the power output remains the same as the BS4 model, the torque has gone down from 10.2Nm to 10Nm. There are no updates in the Burgman’s aesthetic department, and for 2020, Suzuki has added a new colour called Bordeaux Red.

Commenting on the launch Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “Suzuki Motorcycle India is a pioneer in 125cc scooter segment in India and we have also successfully created a new category of advanced premium riding by introducing Burgman Street in the country. Today, we are delighted to offer this premium scooter with BS6 engine along with fuel injection technology to make it even more enjoyable. We are confident that the upgraded Burgman Street with BS6 will add a zing to an overall riding experience for our customers.”

With the BS6 emission norms kicking in from April 1, 2020, manufacturers have started ditching carbureted engine in favour of fuel injected units. Yamaha have phased out their 110cc engine and replaced it with 125cc engine.
