Royal Enfield has unveiled its first-ever electric motorcycle under the Flying Flea brand, and the motorcycle will be called the Flying Flea C6. While all the details about the C6 have not yet been revealed, here’s what we know so far about the electric Royal Enfield.
The design of Flying Flea C6 is contemporary but it continues to be quintessentially Royal Enfield. The EV motorcycle is based on a forged aluminium frame and gets girder forks – the latter being a rare feature on bikes these days – to handle suspension duties, while the rear gets a monoshock. The battery is a stressed member of the frame, and the lower part of the magnesium battery frame, where the footpegs are, gets a distinct Royal Enfield look, where you would normally find a clutch cover on an ICE-powered motorcycle. The C6 gets a single seat design, with the pillion seat being an accessory. The C6 gets front and rear disc brakes with cornering ABS and the motorcycle will be belt driven. In terms of equipment, you get cruise control, colour TFT touchscreen cluster, keyless ignition, OTA capabilities and traction control.
Royal Enfield has also confirmed that a scrambler version of the C6, called the S6, will be in the offing few months after the C6’s launch, and it will sport a faster 0-60kmph acceleration time, 60 per cent more suspension travel and USD forks. As for the launch timeline on the C6, the electric motorcycle will go on sale in 2026.
