Hero has entered the sporty 125cc segment with the Xtreme 125R. The bike features aggressive styling with inspiration from the Karizma XMR and Xtreme 160R. Being a 125cc, it also boasts a claimed fuel efficiency of 66kmpl.
The Xtreme 125R is powered by an air-cooled 125cc single-cylinder producing 11.4bhp at 8,250rpm and 10.5Nm at 6,000rpm through a five-speed wet multiplate gearbox. Hero claims that the Xtreme 125R has a fuel efficiency of 66kmpl.
The Xtreme 125R features a diamond frame and comes in at a wet weight of 136kg. The 1319mm wheelbase is contained within a 2009mm total length. Seat height comes in at 794mm with a ground clearance of 180mm.
The Xtreme 125R gets 17-inch front and rear alloys wearing 90/90 and 120/80 tyres respectively. Suspension is handled by a 37mm telescopic fork and a 7-step preload-adjustable hydraulic rear monoshock, with a 276mm front disc brake and rear drum brake.
The Hero Xtreme 125R has been launched in two variants. The base IBS variant comes in at Rs 95,000 ex-showroom with the top-end ABS variant priced at Rs 99,500 ex-showroom. The Xtreme 125R is expected to go up against the TVS Raider 125 (Rs 95,219 ex-showroom) and Bajaj Pulsar NS125 (Rs 99,571 ex-showroom).
