Kawasaki India’s smallest offering, the Ninja 300, has been updated a year after it was discontinued. However, the 'new' Ninja 300 stays mostly unchanged, save for a more eco-friendly engine. The front still features a split headlamp design and a floating windshield, and the rear still retains the minimalist tail design. There's no mistaking the Ninja 300 for anything else, as this design is over nine years old now, and Kawasaki should ideally have made an effort towards the looks of the new Ninja 300. What are new, however, are the three color schemes: Lime Green, Candy Lime Green, and Ebony Black.

Engine and Hardware

The '2022' Ninja 300 retains the 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin powerplant from the previous version with BS6 compliance. Peak power and torque figures remain unchanged: 38.4bhp at 11,000rpm and 26.1Nm at 10,000rpm, respectively. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch as standard. Braking duties are handled by a 290mm single disc up front and a 220mm disc at the rear, and it rolls on the same 110/70-17 front tyre and a 140/70-17 rear tyre. The Ninja 300 misses on some features though; it still doesn’t have a digital instrument cluster and a ride-by-wire system like its rivals.

Pricing

The locally assembled Ninja 300 is priced at Rs 3.19 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 20,000 more expensive than the old bike. That said, it is still the cheapest offering from the brand, till the new W175 rolls out.
