The 2021 TVS Apache RR310 has been launched in India with a segment-first ‘Build To Order’ platform. The new platform gives buyers the option to customise and personalise their bikes according to their liking. The new bike comes with a choice of two performance kits that are built to order — a Dynamic Kit priced at Rs 12,000 and a Race Kit priced at Rs 5000. These Build to Order bikes will be available in limited numbers — 150 units each for the first two months, after which it will be 100 units per month.

The Dynamic Kit offers fully-adjustable front and rear suspension, and an anti-rust brass-coated drive chain. The front fork offers 20-step compression and rebound adjustment and 15mm pre-load adjustment. There’s a fully-adjustable mono-shock at the rear which can be customised for 20-step compression damping and offers 10-step pre-load adjustment. So, with the Dynamic Kit, riders get the flexibility to have a different setup for different types of rides — track day, highway touring, urban commute or a setup geared toward more comfort or more control.

The Race Kit gives you a lower handlebar, raised footpegs (for 4.5 degrees more lean angle) and knurled footpegs for superior grip, all adding up to make the new RR310 more track-focused right from the factory.

Other than the performance kits, the bike gets upgraded standard fitments like a revised race muffler that, TVS claims, offers not only higher lean angles with a new profile but also a new exhaust note that delivers a more race-y sound. Like other TVS bikes, the new RR310 also gets connected features with the TVS Connect app that you can use to store digital documents (like Registration Certificate card and license) on the cluster. It carries the same TFT cluster which was first featured in the 2020 RR310. You also get upgraded standard features such as a day trip meter (gives details on the current trip), over speed indication and a dynamic rev limit indicator.

Other additions include a wave bite key that is said to offer enhanced security and adds functionality by doubling up as an in-hand adjuster for the suspension settings. With the RR310, TVS is also introducing its race replica livery as a special graphic priced at Rs 4,500 with TVS Racing’s colours of red, blue and white along with a TVS Racing badge, dynamic lines and high contrast colours. Red alloy wheels are on offer too, at Rs 1500.

Talking about the engine, the powertrain on the 2021 RR310 is the same as the one on the outgoing model. A 312cc single-cylinder engine producing a 33.5bhp at 9700rpm and 27.3Nm at 7700rpm on the race and track mode with a top speed of 160kmph. The new RR310 also has an identical 0-60kmph sprint time of 2.9 seconds.

The new RR310 can be customised and booked by the customers on the TVS Arive app as well as the web configurator and logging in with TVS Connect. The customer can spec their bike, select the dealership they would want the bike to be delivered at and get live tracking of the entire process from the production to the final delivery of the vehicle.

All the RR310 models starting from 2017 will also get the Race Kit as an option, while TVS was tight-lipped on whether the Dynamic Kit would be available too. The outgoing BS6-compliant model will also get a new software update which should add some of the 2021 RR310’s features as an option. The 2021 RR310 prices start at Rs 2.59 lakh (ex-showroom), excluding the add-on kits and bookings for the same have started online.

We have already ridden the 2021 RR310 at the MMRT, stay tuned for our first ride review.
