Fast as Lightning?

At the Frankfurt auto show, the makers of the Aspark Owl made an announcement. The makers claimed that it does 0-100kmph in sub-two seconds. Recently though in footage shown, the Aspark Owl was seen to be doing 0-100kmph speed in just 1.9 seconds. The place where the run was done looked like the backyard of a warehouse. There was barely any place for the car to do a 100kmph speed. The car ran on slick tyres, making it a little easy to reach that speed and break to a standstill in no time.

The Owl features by an electric motor which churns out 429 bhp. It sure isn’t too much for a supercar but there is a catch. The Aspark Owl weighs only 850kg! Thus making it possible to do the 0-100kmph sprint in just 1.9 second. The Owl  comes with wheels made out of magnesium. The body and space frame chassis is made largely of carbonfibre. Something that we don’t get to see often. The Aspark Owl is set to go into production in the next two years. If no other manufacturer produces a faster car in that time frame, the Aspark Owl will be the fastest street legal car to be produced in the world. Production will be limited to only 50 models. They are  expected to cost $4.4 million each.

We can’t wait to see if the Aspark Owl can manage to do the sub-two second, 0-100kmph sprint on road tyres!
