Steffen Knapp stepped in as the director of operations for Volkswagen Passenger Cars in India in 2017. During his tenure, he aimed for Volkswagen India to acquire a three per cent market share. He also showed his sincere efforts in improving the brand’s image in India and also worked in improving the sales and post-sales services for the customers. He played a crucial role in getting Volkswagen ready for the ‘India 2.0’ project and has been heading the project operations.

The ‘India 2.0’ project started in 2019 and includes four models that will be based on Volkswagen’s India specific MQB-A0-IN platform. Taigun that was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020 will be the first Volkswagen based on this platform and is slated for launch in 2021. Steffen Knapp also said that the project is going on at a normal pace and there have been no delays in the project due to the worldwide pandemic.

As for now, we here at evo India would like to heartily congratulate both Steffen Knapp and Ashish Gupta for their future and look forward to seeing the brand growing the same way as it did earlier.
