2025 Land Rover Defender launched at ₹1.39 crore
The Defender lineup now includes a new V8 engine with 420bhp

The 2025 Land Rover Defender has been launched at ₹1.39 crore. It has updated interiors, including captain seats in the second row, and an updated V8 engine, which is available in the lower trims as well. Additionally, the brand has bundled the options into several packs which help streamline the choices.
2025 Land Rover Defender exterior and interior
The 2025 Defender retains its iconic design, now with increased options for customisation and comfort. All three body styles – 90, 110 and 130 offer tailored choices, including features like the black contrast roof and multiple wheel design options. Interior updates include 14-way heated/cooled electric seats with winged headrests, suede headliner, and even captain seats (for Defender 130 only). A redesigned centre console allows for more storage, and the new model also includes an updated PiVi Pro system with an 11.4-inch touchscreen, Meridian audio system and front centre console refrigerator.

2025 Land Rover Defender powertrain
A significant upgrade in the 25MY model is the addition of the V8 P425 engine, delivering 420bhp of power. Compared to the P525 V8 which offered 517bhp and a 0-100kmph time of 5.2 seconds, the P425 V8 is marginally slower reaching from 0 to 100kmph in 5.6 seconds (Defender 90). It does however benefit from a wider torque range. What’s new is that both of the lower trims – X-Dynamic HSE and X, will also get the option of this V8 engine. The new mode continues with Land Rover’s terrain response system, electronic air suspension, and all-terrain tyres.
