The 2025 Kia EV6 made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, featuring a refreshed design, increased battery capacity, and more power and range, particularly for the GT model. The India-spec GT Line variant has also got a bigger 84kWh battery with a claimed range of 513km. Safety and convenience have also got a boost with more ADAS features and better sound deadening. We take a look:
Design updates are subtle and the overall silhouette remains the same. It sports an overall sharper front and rear styling with Kia’s signature ‘Star Map’ lighting and revised bumper design, new character lines on the hood, and new 19- to 21-inch wheels. The side profile features new cladding and more aggressive sill mouldings. Inside, the EV6 adopts a more driver-focused layout with dual curved 12.3-inch displays, a D-shaped steering wheel and an updated centre console. Additionally, the materials have been upgraded and sound-absorbing has also been increased.
The 2025 EV6 also introduces the Kia Connect Store, where owners can purchase digital features like video streaming, music, gaming, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Digital Key 2.0 feature enables drivers to use their smartphones or NFC-enabled smart cards to lock, unlock, and drive the vehicle. Coming to safety, the 2025 Kia EV6 adds an upgraded Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and new Junction Turning and Crossing functionality, Lane Change Side Vehicle detection, and Evasive Steering Assist.
Kia has increased battery capacity across the 2025 EV6 lineup. The base variant now comes with a 63kWh battery (58kWh earlier), producing 165bhp and 350Nm of torque. The India-spec GT Line variant, with a 77.4kWh battery earlier, now gets an 84kWh battery and offers a longer range, targeting 513km of range. Other variants like the Light Long Range, and Wind also come with this bigger 84kWh battery. This setup delivers 222bhp and 350Nm of torque. AWD models pack 316bhp and 605Nm of torque while the EV6 GT now makes 593bhp with 739Nm of torque and 632bhp and 770Nm in GT Mode. EV6 GT also features virtual gear shifts complete with engine sounds, and tactile sensation.
The EV6’s ride and handling have been improved with a belt-type steering column, said to offer better steering response. Additionally, the 2025 model adds electric tilt and telescoping steering adjustments.
Official pricing has not been announced but expect them to rise slightly due to the updated features and improved battery capacities. The refreshed EV6 will go on sale in the first half of 2024 and should make its way to India sometime after that.
