The entry-level Range Rover, the Evoque, gets an update for the model year 2021 as its main competitors, the BMW X3, the Mercedes GLC, and the Volo XC60 are pulling ahead. In terms of design, it remains identical with changes mainly in the cabin, and under the hood. It gets 20bhp more for the diesel engine, new dual-tone interior, and many more listed features from Range Rover’s best. Prices for the updated Evoque start at Rs 64.12 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Evoque has a diesel and a petrol engine on offer. The update will have a slight bump in the power figure of the 2-litre diesel from 180bhp to 201bhp while the torque figure remains 430Nm as before. The Ingenium 2-litre petrol engine however retains the previous power figure of 246bhp and 365Nm of torque. Both engines come mated to a nine-speed automatic ‘box and are offered with all-wheel-drive as standard.
The interior updates in the Evoque include the addition of features derived from the top of Land Rover’s pecking order. Features like Pivi Pro infotainment system, air Ionisation with PM2.5 filter, and wireless device charging with ‘Phone Signal Booster’ have been introduced. And it also gets a 3D surround camera cabin — it only had a rearview camera before. The Evoque will also have fresh new dual-tone interior options, Deep Garnet and Ebony.
The Evoque now comes at Rs 64.12 lakh, which makes it the most expensive buy against its rivals. Its rivals are the Mercedes-Benz GLC priced Rs 57.36 lakh, BMW X3 at Rs 57.5 lakh and Volvo XC60 which starts at Rs 60.9 lakh.
