TVS Motor Company has launched the 2019 Apache RR310 with a slipper clutch. The bike also gets a new ‘Phantom Black’ paint scheme. At Rs 2.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the bike is almost Rs 3000 pricier than the older version. If you already own an Apache RR310, fret not. The slipper clutch can be retrofitted to existing bikes as well. However, TVS has not revealed the price of the slipper clutch assembly. The bike’s competitors, the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 are also equipped with a slipper clutch.

The TVS Apache RR310 continues to be powered by the reverse inclined, 312.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor producing 33.5bhp and 27.3Nm. The engine is housed in a trellis frame and gets premium equipment like Kayaba USD forks, dual channel ABS, bi-LED projector headlamps and a vertically mounted digital instrument cluster.

Commenting on the launch, K N Radhakrishnan, director & CEO, TVS Motor Company says, “We are excited to introduce the Race Tuned (RT) slipper clutch on the TVS Apache RR 310 and I am confident that our existing and new customers will appreciate this performance upgrade. The super-premium motorcycle, which is seen as an ultimate track weapon, originates from our racing pedigree. Equipping it with this technology is a natural progression for the bike. We also want to expand this experience to our existing TVS Apache RR 310 customers, who will appreciate the enhanced racing dynamics. The new styling upgrades accentuate the racing stance of the motorcycle and create customer delight.”

TVS also claims that the upgrades have also improved rideability and ride feel. We will be riding the new motorcycle tomorrow, so stay tuned for our ride review.
