Round 3 of the MMSC MRF FMSCI Indian National Racing Championship 2024 concluded with TVS Racing boys leading the championship tally by a fair margin. Both Sarthak Chavan and Chiranth Vishwanath proved again why they are some of the best upcoming racers in India, with wins in the Pro-stock 165cc Open and Pro-stock 301-400cc Open classes respectively. Abdul Basim too grabbed another win continuing his undefeated streak into the next round in the Novice (Stock 165cc) class.

Pro-stock 301-400cc Open

The day’s standout performance came from Bengaluru’s Chiranth Vishwanath, who won the Pro-stock 301-400cc Open class starting from P10. Vishwanath started strong, moving up six places in the first lap. He claimed victory, while his teammate and pole-sitter, Sarthak Chavan, had bike trouble and finished eighth. Alwin Sundar from KTM Gusto Racing India and multiple national champion Rajini Krishnan from RACR Castrol Power1 Ultimate followed closely behind Vishwanath. This also meant Chavan’s win streak ended after five consecutive wins but he maintains the championship lead.

Pro-stock 165cc Open

The Pro-stock 165cc Open race also saw a brilliant performance, this time from Vishwanath’s teammate, Sarthak Chavan. Chavan started in P5 while Vishwanath was on pole. The race began well, but Vishwanath was soon overtaken by teammates KY Ahamed and Jagan Kumar, with Chavan in the mix. The battle continued until the final few corners, where Chavan took the chequered flag, followed by Jagan and Vishwanath.

Stock classes

Nobody has been able to match Abdul Basim’s racing form in the Novice (Stock 165cc) class. Leading from the start, he quickly built a comfortable lead, leaving his fellow racers to scramble for the remaining podium positions. His teammate Kamal Navas and Motul Sparks Racing’s Tasmai Cariappa engaged in a fierce battle throughout, with Navas gaining the upper hand just before the chequered flag.

In the Girls (Stock 165cc) class, Rakshitha Dave (RACR Castrol Power1 Ultimate) dominated from P2. She swiftly overtook pole-sitter Rhyana Bee, who had won yesterday’s race and led to victory. Rhyana Bee then faced a tough battle with Jagathishree Kumaresan of One Racing, who eventually overtook her for second place.

The Novice (Stock 301-400cc) class, the biggest grid in the season, gave another thrilling race. Yesterday’s third-place finisher, Savion Babu (Mad Rabbit Racing), overtook Raj Kumar of RDX Torque Racing and Shyam Sundar K of Tachyon Motorsport to clinch the first-place trophy with a dominating performance. Raj Kumar secured P2, and Shyam Sundar settled for a P3 finish.

One-make championships

In an exciting race at the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup, Siddesh Sawant clinched his first victory as pole-sitter Mohsin Paramban crashed out with just two laps remaining. Savion Babu secured second place, while Hyderabad’s Beedani Rajender celebrated his first podium finish in third. Despite his crash, Mohsin maintains a comfortable lead in the championship standings.

The TVS One Make Championship saw a shake-up as Harshith Bogar’s winning streak ended after he failed to finish the Rookie (Apache RTR 200) race. CS Kedarnath seized the opportunity to claim victory, with Saranjith KM and Rajivsham A.S completing the podium. In the Apache RR 310 Open class, Coimbatore’s Senthilkumar C returned to the top defeating Manoj Yesuadiyan, who had won the last two races. This marks Senthilkumar’s fourth win of the season, solidifying his championship lead. The debut season of the Electric RTE class continues to impress, with Sarthak Chavan taking another win, followed by Chiranth Vishwanath and Alwin Sundar.
